2024 Annual Benefit Statement (ABS) Update
Annual Benefit Statements (ABS) are usually issued to all active and deferred members of the Firefighters Pension Schemes by 31 August each year.
From 2024 onwards, for members subject to the McCloud Remedy ABS’ must show members ‘roll back’ position of the benefits built up in legacy scheme. This does cause some complexities as additional data and software is required to produce these calculations.
Unfortunately, for members affected by the McCloud Remedy ABS 2024 will be delayed and a letter will be issued to those members. Members’ not affected by McCloud will receive their ABS by 31 August 2024 as normal.
The delay is due to additional data required to perform the roll back still being compiled and not all the administration system updates are yet in place to produce these statements.
NIFRS Pension Staff and HSC Pensions are working hard to resolve the outstanding issues and hope to provide ABS’ to those members subject to the McCloud Remedy by 31 March 2025, if not before.
McCloud Timeline
There has been some slippage in the remedy exercise and our indicative timeline has changed. The revised timeline, updates and other useful information on the McCloud Remedy is published on the McCloud Section of the HSC Pensions website.
