Entitlement to HSC pension benefits often requires supporting documentation such as birth, marriage and death certificates and other legal documents. Any original certificates received will be returned by standard post unless accompanied by alternative return prepaid postage. Please note HSC Pension Service will accept copies.
The HSC Pension Scheme forms are broken down into the main pension event categories. Each category is then divided into either member or employer specific forms.

Mental Health Officer (MHO) and Special Class Forms
Mental Health Officer (MHO) and Special Class (SC) status are only relevant to eligible 1995 Section members. Although not relevant to the 2015 Scheme, it may still need to be recorded to establish possible early retirement criteria for those members who hold preserved rights in the 1995 Section. Employers will need to continue to accurately record either status in these circumstances. The same processes and forms used for protected 1995 members will continue to apply.

If your membership record does not already show MHO status and you believe it should apply then please complete the MHO Application Form.

Special Class status
There are no forms relevant to the member in this section as entitlement to Special Class status is automatically applied to eligible members.

Pension Estimate Forms
If you require an estimate of pensions benefits please refer to your Annual Benefit Statement on your member self-service portal. Calculators are available to help you determine your pension benefits at a retirement date selected by you, at today’s value. The calculators can be found here. Individual estimates will only be available to members within 6 months of their agreed retirement date.
From April 2025 all Active members affected by McCloud will receive a dual statement providing them with detailed figures in relation to the McCloud remedy. For more information on McCloud please visit the McCloud Ruling section within our website.

If you wish to transfer your benefits out of the HSC Pension Scheme, you must contact your new provider and request that they contact us to request a transfer out valuation.
