Update on Modified Pension Scheme – Matthews Second Options Exercise and upcoming information sessions.
We previously issued out expression of interest forms to those eligible to establish those interested in purchasing pension entitlement as a special member of the modified scheme. This part of the project has now concluded.
The Pensions Department will be in a position to commence issuing pension figures to members eligible for the Modified Scheme from August 2025 onwards in batches.
We will be running information sessions via zoom providing:
- background information on the Second Options Exercise;
- the priority order cases will be processed in;
- what will be included in option packs;
- an overview of the forms to be completed; and
- next steps once members make an election.
Please note attending these sessions is voluntary and that no payment will be made for attendance.
Dates of the information sessions are below:
| Tuesday, 29 July 2025 | 12 noon – 1 pm |
| Wednesday, 30 July 2025 | 1 pm – 2 pm |
| Thursday, 31 July 2025 | 3 pm – 4 pm |
| Thursday, 31 July 2025 | 6 pm – 7 pm |
If you are unable to make any of the dates given above, recording will be made and uploaded onto HSC Pension Service Website.
HOW TO REGISTER:
Current and former retained employees who are eligible for Second Options Exercise and wish to avail of the information session, need to email Matthews@nifrs.org providing details of date & time of the session you wish to attend and email address to be used for zoom session. Note the cut off for requesting a place will be Friday 25th July 2025. You will then be sent via e-mail a link to the appropriate session. Please remember to check your spam and junk e-mail for your invite.
