Firefighters’ Pension Update – Bulletin 29

2026 Annual Benefit Statements/Remediable Service Statement (ABS/RSS)

HSC Pension Service will be issuing active and deferred members ABS/RSS Statements via the Engage portal formerly Member Self Service (MSS) at the end of August 2026.  Email will be distributed to members to advise ABS/RSS has been uploaded onto their Engage portal.

If you are not impacted by the McCloud Age Discrimination remedy you will receive a standard Annual Benefit Statement and you have no further action to take.

Members of the Firefighters Pension Scheme 2007 or a special members of the modified New Firefighters Pension Scheme 2007 impacted by the McCloud Age Discrimination remedy may have action to take within 12 weeks from 31 August 2026 if they wish to pay the contributions you owe to the scheme this year rather than waiting to retirement.

Standard members of the New Firefighter’s Pension Scheme 2007 who are not eligible for the Matthews Second Options exercise may have action to take as they can either defer until retirement or claim back overpaid contributions now owing to them now.
